Michele Friswell is a visual artist who is interested in exploring the stories and layers of every day life both past and present. Her work considers the way in which each interaction we make leaves a trace and repeated actions leave an invisible interconnected line – our own personal map. Michele has created Turkish map fold origami pieces using old maps of Wrexham and the Tithe Map of Holt – the original of which can be found in Wrexham Museum. Printed on tracing paper, each piece is inspired by the offerings found in temples and pagodas in South East Asia. The folding and repetitious nature of the work references the chanting and praying of the monks.
